PHILOSOPHY
phi·los·o·phy
From philo ( love ) and sophia ( wisdom or knowledge ).
-Love of wisdom-

Philosophy, translated from the original greek philosophia ( φιλοσοφία ) means "love of wisdom". Philosophy is the mother of all sciences, commonly, it has several main branches: "Natural philosophy" (the study of physis, the natural world), "Moral philosophy" also known as value theory (the study of ethos and aesthetics); Epistemology, the study of knowledge and how we obtain it; and "Metaphysical philosophy" or just Metaphysics (the study of logos and the fundamental questions about reality).

Today, physis, ethos and logos have evolved into the natural sciences, such as physics, chemistry, biology, geology or astronomy; the social sciences such as law, politics, psychology and sociology; and the liberal arts such as theology, ethics and history.

The aim of the New Athens project is to bring back all the unifying glass of philosophy to appreciate the intertwining complexity between all of these different disciplines.
